An Adaptive Traffic Signaling For Roundabout With Four Approach Intersections Based On Fuzzy Logic

Abstract

This research paper presents an adaptive traffic signaling method based on fuzzy logic for roundabout with four-approaches intersection. The process of whether to extend or terminate current signal phase and select the sequence of next phases is determined using fuzzy logic. The proposed method can replace an experienced traffic policeman organizing traffic at roundabout intersections.
